Abstract

a standard in software development. Findings: This paper proposes a solution that contributes in solving the problem that arises in ICU is related to the information that medical staff is not aware of when they leave the hospital, and by this, they miss vital information related to the condition of the patient. This paper is useful for patients, doctors, nurses, hospitals, and health services entities. To check the validity of the model, a simulated profile was implemented. It is supported in cloud computing to provide ubiquity, access, scalability, and data integrity. After defining functional requirements, the conceptual model is obtained, then the architecture for the implementation is defined, and the simulated profile is briefly described. Finally, conclusions are drawn. Novelty: This work is novel because it considers a business model based on cloud computing to define the architecture that allows on-demand telemonitoring equipment that measures patient signals, also making it possible for doctors to have permanent information about the state of these.

Abstract

Background/Objectives: Older adults in home hospitalization are prone to health complications due to factors that may hinder recovery. Many of these are a result of inadequate care, as is the case with afflictions such as skin ulcers and incontinence-associated dermatitis. The problem is even more evident when the older adult cannot take care of him/ herself and needs a person who is permanently monitoring their health. Situations such as those mentioned above affect the quality of life of patients and caregivers causing discomfort, additional health problems and an increase in medical costs to treat the new conditions. The main objective of the present work is to show an architecture that allows to remotely monitoring conditions that can improve the health of the elderly in home hospitalization. Methods: The methodology used in the construction of the architectural model is Rational Unified Process and the diagrams used in the description of the architecture are based on Unified Modeling Language, which is considered a standard in software development. Findings: The present work provides a solution to the problem identified through the proposal of architecture to remotely monitor the elderly in hospital care, supported by the Internet of Things. This document presents a case study that checks the validity of the functionality of the architecture. Novelty: In the context of the related work the results presented in the document are novel because they contribute to a solution that allows to monitor health conditions of elderly patients who leave the hospitals and must continue their recovery at home, especially older adults cannot care for themselves during recovery and whose care must be permanent to avoid later complications.

Abstract

Objectives: There are multiple approaches for processes to recover the architecture of a software product; however, a catalog has not been found, indicating when and how they should be used. The objective of this work is to propose a characterization model of the Software Architectures Recovery Process (SARP), which serves as a reference to establish the structure of the mentioned catalog. Methods: The model was obtained by applying the pattern matching technique to establish the common aspects of all the approaches identified in the literature review. Findings: The results of the evaluation of the model reveal its usefulness as a reference to establish the structure of the catalog, indicating when and how a specific process of architectures recovery should be used. Applications: The defined model is a new way of structuring and documenting SARP, which facilitates the understanding, analysis and selection of approaches to recover the architecture of a software product.

Abstract

Objectives: This document proposes a model that describes: A Disaster Care System, the communities that comprise it and how they can exchange experiences to carry out joint actions of assistance to people who are at risk. Methods: This job used a methodology called AMENITIES to model the cooperative behavior of disaster care communities. A simulated scenario is presented using the FHMIPv6/MPLS protocols showing cooperation among community members when dealing with a disaster situation. Findings: We consider that it is important that each of the communities that offer support in the event of an eventuality caused by some kind of disaster, can access useful information to carry out assistance plans. A problem of technological isolation is identified which makes it impossible to carry out collaborative scenarios to care for people at risk. We present a model that provides solutions to the problem and a simulated scenario is performed to validate the utility of the proposed model. Applications: The cooperative modeling and exchange of experiences among community members provide useful guides that allow different cooperating peers to be coordinated when dealing with a disaster situation. It is also novel the validation of the model supported in the FHMIPv6/MPLS protocol.

Abstract

Background/Objectives: The software architecture recovery process is an activity that is included in different contexts. However, the methodological proposals to perform this process do not take into account the particular needs of the context in which it is developed. The objective of this work is to propose a methodology for Software Architecture Recovery, responding the specific needs of the context in which the need to recover the architecture of a software product is presented. Methods: The model was obtained after applying the pattern-matching technique in order to establish the common aspects to all the proposals identified in the literature review. Findings: The results of the evaluation of the methodological proposal reveal the usefulness when recovering architectures, since it allows focusing attention on the most relevant aspects of recovery for the specific context in which the process is performed. Novelty: The defined methodological proposal is a new way of performing architecture recovery processes, which achieves more relevant results to the context in which the needs arise.

Abstract

Background/Objectives: When disasters caused by nature occur, for example, floods or earthquakes, it is common for communications infrastructure to collapse, leaving people isolated; which can increase the risk of vulnerability after the disaster, due to ignorance of vital information to receive help. The objective of this work is to provide a mechanism to enable people affected during a disaster to have a communication channel to inform aid entities about their personal condition. Methods: The present work is based on a descriptive methodology that allows representing an architecture that makes it possible to send messages through an ad hoc network generated with mobile devices, which is based on the guides of the 4 + 1 views model. Findings: The work provides a guide that enables connectivity for communication during disaster situations, being of great help, for disaster response agencies, to quickly assist potential victims of disasters, who are in a vulnerable situation. Application/Novelty: The work has allowed us to generate a test scenario where the functionality of the architecture is validated. There has also been a simulated scenario where the behavior of the Ad hoc network is studied, which allows sending help messages in the moments after the occurrence of a natural disaster.
